Scholarly Journals in the print collection

UMC Print Periodicals - This is an alphabetical list of journals, magazines, and newspapers that the UMC Library subscribes to in paper format. The last column in the list is Scholarly? (Y/N).  Those which have a Y in the last column are scholarly journals.

If you know a scholarly journal's title you can use the Crookston Catalog - On Campus Materials to search the UMC on-campus print print journal collection. If the journal is held you can click on the Availability Link to determine if an individual issue of print journal held by the UMC Library.

Scholarly Journals by publisher

The UMC library has online access to many of the journals of the publishers listed below. In addition to the alphabital list of journals found at each site, you can also search at the site by journal title.  Each of these publishers also provides a search interface which permits searching that publisher's journals.

• IEEE - Journals, magazines, conference proceedings, and standards in the area of technology, computing, and engineering. The journals in the collection are listed at: http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/periodicals.jsp

• JSTOR - Includes journals in many disciplines including the arts, humanities, and social sciences. Provides access to complete back runs Volume 1, number 1. The UMC Library subscribes to the journals in the Arts & Sciences Collection I.

• Project Muse - - Provides access to the full text of the Johns Hopkins University Press's 100+ scholarly journals in the humanities, social sciences, and mathematics. List of titles to which UMC researchers have access is at http://library.umcrookston.edu/muse2.htm

• Science Direct - Scientific, technical, and medical information from 1995 to the present. The print publisher is Elsevier®.  The journals in the collection are listed with an icon indicating which journals UMC has access. Chick here for the list.

• SpringerLink acquired Kluwer Online and combined the journal collections of both publishers to provide access to some of the world's leading scientific, technical, and medical journals. A browse list of titles is available on the SpringerLink home page.
• SpringerLink has a basic search interface on its home page as well.

Search to find access to a specific Scholarly Journal

• Find an Electronic Journal — U M Crookston -  This is part of FindIt the UMC Library Linking service. If you have a title or ISSN of a scholarly journal you can check to see if UMC has access to it.  You can search at this site by journal title, broad subject category, ISSN.
  
• Crookston Catalog Plus Internet Resources   The UMC Library Catalog Plus Inernet Resources includes both the print and online journals and magazines. The advanced search permits seraching by journal title, Library of Congress subject headings, and ISSN.
