Health Care Law and Biomedical Ethics
Where to begin
The University of Minnesota, Crookston Library has materials and
services available to support the research and study of Health
Care Law and Biomedical Ethics. The UMC Librarians are very willing to help you at any phase of your research use the information in the Staff & Contacts link to contact the Librarians.
In the process of selecting a topic it is generally a good
idea to see what kind of research materials are available on a
topic. One way to do this is to do some searching in databases
which cover a large number of diverse journals. Three possibilities
are:
Ebsco
MegaFile - EBSCO MegaFILE is a multi-disciplinary database
providing full text for nearly 12,000 total publications and indexing
& abstracting for more than 16,000 publications.
Academic
Search Premier - contains indexing for nearly 8,050 publications,
with full text for more than 4,600 of those titles.
InfoTrac
OneFile - A one-stop source for news and periodical articles
on a wide range of topics: business, computers, current events,
economics, education, environmental issues, health care, hobbies,
humanities, law, literature and art, politics, science, social
science, sports, technology, and many general interest topics.
Once you have looked
around and found a topic and determined that there is enough information
available to write a good paper you will need to search the available relevant resources. These would include books, academic articles and law reviews, cases, laws and regulations. The links to the left will assist you in doing this.
