Resources
The Databases link on the left contains a list of the databases which can be searched for citation and abstract information. Many of these databases contain the text of the articles as well.
The Periodicals link on the left contains a list of print journals and magazines, and lists the UMC Library electronic journal subscriptions. All of these journal collections can be searched like databases.
Linking
FindIt is the UMC Library Linking service. It provides links between references in a database to text in one of the periodicals or in another database.
Selection of Resources
The UMC Library Databases page is actually two pages. One lists the UMC Library's subscription databases alphabetically by title and the other arranges them by broad subject. There are two subjects that relate to your paper: Law and Criminal Justice and Medicine, Nutrition and Health.
At some point in your research for this paper you will likely need to use LEXIS®-NEXIS® Academic Universe - LEXIS® is a global online information provider specializing in news, business and legal information.
There are several different search forms:
LEXIS® legal research . The Law Review search searches the full text of many hundred law reviews. The resulting law review articles are often very long. They can be very helpful on a specific topic.
LEXIS Legal Topics. One of the LEXIS topics is Health Law. It consists of federal cases on health law topics. This can be a good place to find a topic.
LEXIS Medical. Lexis has some medical information.
Do not forget those large multidisciplinary databases:
Ebsco MegaFile.
