UMC Library Career Resources
Career Selection & Job Hunting
Choosing a career involves matching the person and their skills abilities and interests to a job or profession. The UMC Career & Counseling Services provides in person Career services and Career Planning resources that help a student know their skills, interests, and strengths and how these match a particular career.

The UMC Library has books and online materials to assist you in choosing a career. Recent print books are listed below under the heading On Campus Materials. To search for other on campus print materials use
Crookston Catalog - On Campus Materials.
The basic informational resource for career selection is the Occupational Outlook Handbook. The UMC Library holds this as a book, and in several versions as an eBook and provides access to it as a searchable database. Minnesota has an interactive resource called Minnesota careers which guides the student through the career selection process interactively.
The UMC Library also has a large number of eBooks on career selection. The list of eBooks below consists of the more recent online publications. To search for eBooks and other internet resources use Crookston Catalog Plus Internet Resources. If you want to see all of the UMC Library's materials click on vocational guidance.
